General Manager (reports directly to District Manager)

Forever 21 is a fashion phenomenon that is sweeping across the globe opening stores in the best locations. With over 400 stores globally, we are just at the beginning of European growth and have huge plans for the next few years. With 12 European locations including; Spain, France, Belgium, Austria, UK & Ireland with nearly 2000 employees we have a busy 2013 ahead as we plan on bringing the Forever 21 experience to more shopping centres and high streets across Europe.

Launching a new brand is hard work but very rewarding and you will see the direct results for your hard work. With our European flagship store on Oxford Street and our largest store in Europe in Stratford Westfield there are many opportunities to get involved in the London area. We are now excited be recruiting Managers in ready for our launch into Lakeside at the end of this year.
As General Manager in this massive fast paced operation, your role will be to recruit, lead, motivate and develop your store team to consistently deliver the Forever 21 expectation. You will utilise your senior managers to ensure Operational and Commercial aspects are delivered and will strategically develop the Lakeside Store performance.

  • Ensure all Visual Merchandising and Layout guidelines are adhered to
  • Link with Data dept on all stock issues
  • Drive a non-aggressive sales culture that knows when to optimize on situations
  • Promote a smile and greeting culture
  • Keep ahead of all competitors by regular comp shops and networking with other retailers and market influencers
  • Manage compliance so that all deadlines are met in a timely fashion
  • Ensure that all information submitted is accurate and legible
  • Present all information in a professional and comprehensive style
  • Manage product so that minimal markdown activity is required
  • Ensure one offs are dealt with timely, accurately and effectively by ensuring all visual and operational team understand how to manage the stock
  • Analyze product and recommends increases / decreases to product lines and departments
 Job Requirements:
  • 2-5 years Retail Management experience
  • Excellent ability to train and motivate staff
  • Must be punctual
  • Create and promote a friendly, professional environment with customers, supervisors, and co-workers
  • Maximize store volume in accordance with all store and company goals, policies, procedures, etc.
  • Ensure customer service is being maintained throughout the business day
  • Maintain an orderly system for planning, coordination, follow-through, and completion of tasks
  • Ability to understand priorities and the sense of urgency of the business, adjusting directions and scheduling when necessary to meet store needs and the demands of the business
  • Ensure the store maintains excellent visual presentation at all times by presenting a fashion statement throughout the store
  • Ensure proper floor coverage and floor management to maximize store volume
  • Implement and follow all loss prevention procedures to minimize store shrinkage
