Corporate Training Associate
Job Description :
Job Summary:

Based in Los Angeles and reporting to the Training and Development Manager, this highly visible position works collaboratively with key corporate and field partners to assist, support and design training programs to address role specific needs of all corporate employees in such areas as supervisory development, company compliance, diversity, retail management, and similar corporate development courses.  Training Associate will assist in the instructional design of training material using current adult learning techniques.  Training Associate will also be required to facilitate classroom-training sessions.



Essential Functions:
  • Write and design instructional materials (including leader guides, student guides, course exercises, manuals, and visual aids) for use in training courses, with high attention to quality,  role-specificity, and engaging learning experience
  •  Leverage existing library to identify content needed to create assigned training material
  •  Pilot test, training materials and facilitate training courses to various skill levels
  • Collect data to make recommendations, to revise and or enhance current and future projects
  • Accept and solicit feedback to improve effectiveness of training programs
  • Utilize computer software to create fun and engaging training material
  • Delivery dynamic and interactive classroom presentation
  • Utilize persuasive leadership ability to consult with subject matter experts to assist with identification of training needs
  • Ability to quickly learn and interpret business material, reporting tools, and unfamiliar content
  • Manage project workload to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Implement HR/Company initiatives, including facilitation and preparation of materials for annual focal review process
  • Serve as a company liaison with other projects such as Mentor programs, English as a Second Language programs, and corporate communication
  • Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to assisting other HR functions (i.e. benefits, employee relations, etc.) in the execution of projects and transactional workload
  • Excellent written communication and editing ability
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Communications, Organizational Development, or related studies. ( High School diploma plus 5 years of leadership/ management experience can substitute for education)
  • 1-3 years’ experience in instructional design, technical writing, and/or curriculum development.
  • Demonstrate project management skills to handle all aspects of complex projects
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of instructional design tools and adult learning theory
  • Demonstrate content development experience with emphasis in Soft Skills (i.e., Coaching, Conflict Management, Listening, Leadership Development, or HR compliance (i.e. Wage and Hour issues, employee relations, behavioral interviewing or disciplinary action).
Preferred Qualifications
  • HR Generalist Background (preferably in a retail setting)
  • Knowledge/experience in employee relations, benefits administration, payroll processing, data management, and/or recruiting
  • Knowledge of ADDIE Training Model
  • Experience using Captivate software
  • Ability to read and write in a second language (Spanish, Korean, French, or Chinese)
